Hot Weather Spells Engine Trouble
We have had a number of hot days already this summer and with more than a month and a half in the season there have already been a number of reports of drivers experiencing weather related engine problems. A report by YNN found that auto repair shops have seen an increase of engine problems due to the extreme heat.
Charlie Murphy, a mechanic at Firestone, said these recent hot days have brought in many with hose failures, which is the seals and gaskets where the engine is put together. Extreme heat causes a lot of stress on the cooling system of the engine, and it will break down,” said Murphy.
So before you head out on a trip check your car’s coolant, fluids, hoses and battery. There’s not much more depressing than having car problems while on your way to a vacation getaway.
