The coach of a high school baseball team in California was pretty upset when his team lost a recent game. He went on a 17 minute, profanity laced tirade that one player caught on his cell phone. Now the coach, Kim Brooks, has been suspended while the school board decides if he gets to keep his job.

Brooks can be heard yelling 'If you don’t get it, (expletive) get out. Get the (expletive) out! That’s the way it’s been, and that’s the way it’s gotta be until I (expletive) die. If you don’t like it, it’s easy to transfer. If you can’t (expletive) dive for a ball in the infield, (expletive) you! Can’t make a routine play? (Expletive) you! Let somebody else try to make a (expletive) routine play. You’re gonna (expletive) (complain) and moan at the (expletive) umpire? … (Expletive) you! Get off the (expletive) mound! I want a man out there. I want men!'

Brooks told the Whittier Daily News, 'My language was inappropriate. I was trying to motivate my team after a very poor performance and I apologize for my language.'

It was more than just the language. A coach is suppose to inspire and be a leader, not belittle players, making them feel bad about themselves. There's a difference between motivating and demoralizing, especially in high school.
