The Winter storm hitting central New York could dump 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour just in time for the morning commute. The Winter Storm Watch is now a Warning with up to a foot of snow possible when it's over.

The warning is up from 4 AM to 10 PM Wednesday, February 7th with steady snow beginning between 7 and 8 AM. The heaviest snow, that could be 1 to 2 inches per hour, will fall between 9 AM and 5 PM. When all is said and done, we could end up with 5 to 8 inches but some areas could see as much as 10.

Utica and Whitesboro have declared snow emergencies is preparation for the impending storm and some area schools have already closed.
