Hank Williams, Jr. will officially be playing the CMA Music Festival this summer alongside Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church and Sam Hunt as part of the Friday night lineup on June 10, 2016.

On top of that announcement, Williams has also been adding cities to his sold-out limited run tour, select dates of which include Stapleton for a show that is sure to be nothing short of epic.

Williams recently released a new record — his 37th studio album — titled It’s About Time, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, the highest debut of his career. The songs on the album, as always, reflect his rough-around-the-edges personality, including the title track that maligns the modern “weird, pop-country sound."

"I didn’t know any other way to put it,” he told Rolling Stone Country.

It also features a tune called “God and Guns,” which some have called controversial.

“In my world it’s not controversial. It’s pretty strong,” he says. “It reminds you of ‘Country Boy Can Survive.’ Very slow, low notes, big rockin’ build up.”

Williams has never been shy about sharing what he thinks. He recently said he does not “give a s—“ what happens in the 2016 election compared to the release of his new record. It’s About Time is his first release under a new deal with Nash Icon, which is dedicated to putting music vets back in the mainstream. Williams’ full list of tour dates is below.
