Hamilton, NY Chosen One of the Friendliest Towns in the United States
January 14, 2013 4:43 PM There’s just a shade under 20 thousand cities in United States, and according to Forbes Magazine, Hamilton, NY is one of the friendliest of those incorporated communities. The magazine used data from the census bureau, F.B.I. and homeownership statistics to help compile the Top 15 Friendliest Cities in the U.S.
Forbes described Hamilton as a tiny historic Central New York Town and home to prestigious Colgate University.
Crime rates are markedly lower than the national average and despite being a college town, the rate of homeownership is more than 60%. The Village Green offers local eateries and merchants as well as some of the area’s most historic homes.
Hamilton placed 11th of the top15 friendliest towns, with Sammamish, WA taking the top spot. Get the entire list here
