After adding several extra Chicago dates, Garth Brooks has broken his own record for tickets sold!

Brooks' first stop on his world tour is proving to be huge, and he's not even finished selling tickets yet.

"On Oct. 21-26 and Dec. 18-19, 1997, Garth set a personal record in Chicago when he sold 141,717 paid admissions," Ben Farrell says in a release. "Today, for the first city on his world tour he has already exceeded his personal record and continues to sell."

Brooks put tickets for the Sept. 4 Allstate Arena show on sale on sale Friday morning (July 25) at 10AM and by 10:35 another show had been added. When it was all said and done, 10 shows were on the books for Chicago.

CMT reports that in less than three hours the country superstar had sold over 180,000 tickets to the Chicago shows. That surpasses his first record -- by a lot! The previous record had also been set for the same venue, which was then called the Rosemont Hotel.

All of the Chicago shows kick off the world tour that Brooks is embarking on with Trisha Yearwood. The tour could last a total of three years and will feature music from an upcoming album. Tickets for the Chicago shows are available for purchase on Ticketmaster and there are still seats left (for now)!
