This has been one of the coldest winters on record for not just Central New York, but the whole country. New York City is no exception and one group called OckTV, did a social experiment to test the kindness of strangers. They had a young boy pose as a homeless kid on a busy city street in 5 degree weather to see how long it would take for someone to notice. It was just about 2 hours before someone noticed the boy and you'll never believe who came to his aid.

You have to watch this touching video.

After hundreds of people passed by this freezing and poorly clothed child, it was an actual homeless person who stopped to give the boy his coat and money to get something to eat. That act of kindness earned the man over $500 cash. He didn't do it for that money, he did it because he could relate to the young man and he clearly had a heart. I think the quote at the end of this video is so profound. "If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you'l end up doing nothing for nobody." Keep that in mind the next time you see someone in need.
