Whether you want to see how other farmer's are "doing it" or teach the kids where their food comes from, Open Farm Day is a fun and educational experience for all ages. Cornell Cooperative Extension  presents a free tour from a wide variety of farming operations and farmer's markets in Madison County.

Open Farm Day is July 25 from 10 until 4. This marks the 8th year in Madison County and the event has spawned several similar ones throughout New York.  This year 29 farms and 3 farmer's markets are participating in the program.

Visitors will be able to tour farms, enjoy food tastings, meet animals, and learn about local agriculture.

A wide variety of farms are participating include operations with dairy, horses, buffalo, alpacas and sheep.  There's also bee keeping operations, a hops farm, maple production and vegetables.
