For the sixth consecutive year the Frankfort Free Library is accepting donations of gently used prom dresses for their annual Prom Dress Giveaway.

The Library takes in gently used dresses of all sizes along with purses, jewelry and accessories and gives them away to area girls who need them to make their prom a memorable success.

Since prom dresses can cost a pretty penny and are generally used only once, the program is a great idea for girls who may have trouble affording the perfect dress for the big night.

If you or anyone you know has gently used prom dresses or accessories, you can donate them at the Frankfort Free Library at 123 South Frankfort Street in Frankfort on Saturday March 5, and again on Saturday March 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

For those that wish to take advantage of the Prom Dress Giveaway, there are two dates scheduled for pickup:

  • April 8 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
  • April 9 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Last year more than 150 local girls used the program to find a prom dress.

The Prom Dress Giveaway is free and available to girls from all across the Mohawk Valley.

Maybe your gently used prom dress will be the one that makes a local girl's prom dreams come true!
