“First Night Oneonta” Set To Ring in the New Year
It may not be Times Square but the city of Oneonta does it up big when it comes to New Year’s Eve. “First Night Oneonta”, an annual celebration of the arts, will kick off at 4 this afternoon with music, children’s activities and a big fireworks display all designed to bring in the New Year in a safe, festive and alcohol free style. If you’ve never been to a “First Night ” celebration before here’s what to expect.
Held in more than 200 cities worldwide, the festival is a wonderful way to bring in the New Year in an uplifting, alcohol-free atmosphere. Centered on Main Street Oneonta, First Night Oneonta has a splendid array of entertainment: Children’s activities in the afternoon, Poetry readings, a Fantastic parade and performances by great area musicians and dancers.
