For the first time in over 30 years, a central New York school band will march in the Rose Parade.

The Marching Bees from the Baldwinsville Central School District will represent CNY in the 131st Rose Parade, January 1, 2020, in Pasadena, California. Only 15 high school bands from around the country are invited each year and the acceptance process is a lengthy one.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime for our students and our district,” says Superintendent Matthew McDonald. “Our students, staff, Board of Education, and community have worked hard to build and support the district’s music program, of which marching band is a part. This invitation is a great honor and a reflection of the Baldwinsville school district community’s commitment to music education and educational excellence. Go Bees!”

The Rose Parade is part of the Tournament of Roses, kicking off the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena, California since 1890.  We'll be able to see the Marching Bees at 8AM when the 2020 Rose Parade airs.
