On Thursday morning, Layla and Albert Zeina who are both owners of the family restaurant Zeina's Cafe, started their morning with the news that there was a fire at their New Hartford home.

According to the Utica OD, the blaze was called in about 10:34AM at 17 Bolton Circle. The family was not home at the time, and rushed home to see how bad the fire was. New Hartford Fire Chief Thomas Bolanowski reports that the fire was confined to the kitchen area, but smoke damage spread throughout the house. He said the home was insured but is now uninhabitable. The fire was under control by 11:17AM.

Unfortunately, the family lost everything due to the smoke damage. Currently the community is working together for a fundraising effort for this amazing family. We will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.
