You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know standing water in a field isn't good for crops.  Cornell Cooperative Extension will be hosting a tile drainage workshop in Brookfield in October.

CCE's Jeff Miller says proper drainage pays off in multiple ways.  A field that has impaired drainage can reduce crop yields and for a double whammy it can also delay harvest which leads to poor quality grains.

CCE will be sponsoring a field demonstration of a tile plow installing tile drains. This field event will be held at 11161 Miner Road in Brookfield on October 20th from 1-3pm. If you want to attend, reserve a spot with Linda by calling 315-736-3394 extension 124.  You can also get more drainage information in the Factsheets section at CCE's website.
