The fantasy playoffs are on the horizon. Recent injuries to a few starting quarterbacks in the NFL could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs. The Philadelphia Eagles and Michael Vick have struggled this season. Vick was expected to be at least a top 10 fantasy quarterback, but has been a massive disappointment. Vick could face an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a significant concussion. Nick Foles is primed to step in as the Eagles starting quarterback, but should not be a consideration as a fantasy replacement.

Ben Roethlisberger also faces an unspecified absence after a shoulder and rib injury he picked up in last weeks game against the Chiefs. Big Ben had been a pretty solid fantasy option this season and will be replaced by Byron Leftwich. Once again Leftwich not a preferred fantasy starter, especially if you are making a late playoff push.

With injuries and bye week absences here are a couple of quarterbacks you could turn to or even consider trading for if they are owned.

Carson Palmer (Oakland) - The Raiders have been throwing the ball a ton. Palmer will continue to air it out this week as the Saints come in to town. With Darren McFadden set to miss another week, expect Palmer to carry the load in Oakland.

Josh Freeman (Tampa) - Freeman has emerged as a surprisingly solid option at quarterback this season. Since Tampa's week 5 bye Freeman has thrown 13 touchdowns and just 1 interception with at least 200 yards and 2 touchdowns every week. Freeman is playing well enough to help your team to the fantasy playoffs.
