Hard to believe, but Sunday will mark the 1 year anniversary of the death of Kevin Ward Jr.  He was killed at Canandaigua Motorsports Park after being struck by Tony Stewart's car.  Friday, the family filed a wrongful death suit in the case.

Ward, who was only 20 at the time, was killed during a Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints race on August 10, 2014.  After his car and Stewarts' car collided, a video shows Ward getting out of his car, walking further out onto the track and pointing at Stewart.  Stewarts' car then hits him.  He would die at the hospital less than an hour later.

As the NASCAR series returns to Watkins Glen this weekend, Ward's family filed a wrongful death suit in a Lewis County, NY court.  Get more details on the story at our sister stations' website, WIBX 950.com
