A family of five is now without a home after a horrible fire on Dudley Avenue destroyed everything they owned. Now they're hoping the community can help.

Imagine losing everything. Everything you have is gone in a matter of minutes. Pretty hard to think about, right? Well, that's exactly what happened to this family in Utica. Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire, but that doesn't mean it isn't going to be a hard road to recovery.

Kara and Javis and their three children - A 12-year-old son, and twin 6-year-old daughters, lost everything in the fire. As of right now, the family is staying in a hotel, as they try to pull their life back together.

The American Red Cross is helping collect donations for the family, but the family is also in need of some immediate things like clothes, hygiene items, food, and everyday products. According to a Facebook Post (from a family member of the victims), if people have clothes that they can donate - here are the sizes:

- Men's shirts and pants - Both medium and extra large. Jeans 32x32
- For the twin daughters - sizes 6 and 7 for clothes (they love dresses)
- Women's tops 22/24 or 2x, pants 1x

If their are any kids' toys that anyone has available or would like to get rid of, they will also gladly take them.

Item donations are being collected by family members of the victims of the fire. You can get a hold of them for more information, how to drop off donations, and any questions by contacting: tammybottini@yahoo.com or cm19sexton@gmail.com

A GoFundMe page has also been set up for the family. You can get more information and donate here.

The fire happened around 11:30 on Tuesday morning (9/13). Jarvis was at work, and the children were in school at the time. Kara was home, but luckily was able to get out of the house.

The family would like to thank all the people who are able to help out. They would also like to thank the Utica Fire Department for all their hard work, and for being able to save the family cat that was in the house at the time of the fire, as well.
