The Plan – How it works
So I had the opportunity to talk with Bob to find out how it all works. ‘I put together this book ‘Jumpstart to Skinny‘ to give you three weeks to get as much weight loss as you can. One of the rules is, you can only eat your complex carbohydrates in your first meal. So I put together a bunch of recipes and the breakfasts are great. If you want your pastas or your breads or your rice, that would be the time to eat them. But the number one rule is to take control of proper proportions. Also to show people you have to eat a little bit of protein, a little bit of carbs and a little bit of fat in every meal.’
Wait, I’m trying to lose 20 pounds in three weeks and you’re telling me to eat. ‘Yes. The plan is very restrictive and the calories tend to be low. However, you can eat as many vegetables as you want.’
Complex carbohydrates? What is that? Luckily Bob has spelling it all out for even people like me who are a little clueless when it comes to counting calories and watching what I eat. ‘I laid it all out. You don’t have to do anything but follow the plan. I tell you what to eat, when to eat it and when to workout.
Bob used that word, ‘workout.’ ‘You have to exercise. So I put together my jump start moves like burpees, lunges, squats or jumping jacks. And it only takes 15-20 minutes in every workout.’ I’d much rather exercise for only 20 minutes than killing myself in a gym for 2 hours.
I want to eat healthy but don’t know how to begin cooking healthy. Bob also provides recipes in his new book. ‘I think it’s really important to take control in your kitchen. You gotta know how to eat but you also have to know how to prepare. I made these meals very manageable and easy to make.’ But do they taste good? Because if they don’t taste good, we won’t eat it. And Bob understands that. ‘I made these meals to be good for you and taste good too.’
