Mike first got into dirt bike racing at the age of 14. He had always been interested in motor bikes, dirt bikes, or anything with wheels. His dad would take him to races to watch and that led to him wanting to get involved in racing. Fast forward to today and Mike is very involved in racing all across Central New York. He is a member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) and races in many different circuits.

He races in the open amateur class district #3 which holds races all over the area from near Binghamton, close to Syracuse, as far north as Pulaski and Mexico, and Edmeston and Unadilla. In Unadilla of course, they have a big professional motocross event every year in mid-August. You can see Mike riding the number 626 bike for these races. In 2011 and 2012 he placed 2nd in points in the Open D3 CNYMRA.

You too can get involved with motocross racing and become an AMA member. All you have to do is visit the website www.cnymra.com. Young riders can take lessons and learn all about the sport and what it has to offer, in addition to safety.
