Exclusive Interview: Biggest Loser Trainer Dolvett Quince Shares 3-1-2-1 Diet Plan in New Book

We’ve all thought, ‘I should lose weight,’ but most of us also think of every excuse in the book not to. It’s time for a new book. The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince, helps you take off the weight and keep it off with his new book ‘The 3-1-2-1 Diet. Eat and Cheat Your Way to Weight Loss.

What is a 3-1-2-1 Diet?

I had the opportunity to talk with Dolvett about his new book and the 3-1-2-1 Diet concept.  ‘The numbers represent 7 days of the week. For three days you eat clean, plenty of vegetables, plenty of protein, smart carbs. Then on that fourth day, the one, you have a cheat day. You go back to eating clean for two days and then you have another cheat day.  When you make smart choices, you earn a cheat day.  You want some chocolate, go grab it. You want a bottle of wine, go get some,’ Dolvett explains.

Workout Plan

Dolvett has also set up a workout regime that compliments this style of eating that will have you losing 10 pounds in 21 days.  ‘Or more,’ Dolvett says. ‘Everyone’s body responds differently. You follow this lifestyle change, you’ll see. You can do this whether you’re 16 or 60. This book is for everybody.’

‘Lean towards clean and earn what you burn’ is Dolvett’s mantra. He believes weight loss is about more than dieting, a word he doesn’t use much. ‘Diet is such a bad word. It’s about having a lifestyle. It’s about making choices that are balanced. I don’t believe in deprivation. But I do believe in I’ve earned this, so I’m going to enjoy my life. Balance is key, mentally, physically and spiritually. To be balanced means you’re truly healthy.’

After I talked with Dolvett, I discovered two of the 3-1-2-1 Diet books in the mail.  The first line in the book is ‘This is going to be the best, simplest diet you’ve ever been on.’  Why? Because it gives you three things.  A diet that really works. A plan that lets you lose weight and the ability to cheat.

Meal Planning

The book is filled with everything you need to accomplish your goal, whatever it may be.  From food explanations and menu planning, to calorie counts and worksheets to track your progress. There’s even a shopping list for you to take to the grocery store.  Dolvett has thought of everything, including the recipes.  I can’t wait to try one of the smoothies and sweet potato fries.’

Exercise

Who has time to exercise?  With Dolvett’s plan, you only need 48 minutes and he says you spend that amount of time doing laps ‘going back and forth from your couch to the fridge several times a day.’ Get up and get moving.

Each routine is spelled out with easy instructions.  There are even pictures of Dolvett doing the exercises, so you know you’re doing them right.  Plus there’s a new routine every day so you don’t get bored.  There’s a rest day in there too.
