Globetrotter Zeus Can't Wait to See Smiles at Utica Aud

Harlem Globetrotter Zeus McClurkin is excited to smiles from those young and old when he's at the Utica Aud February 2nd.

Zeus is more than Harlem Globetrotter. He's also a two time Guinness World Records record-holder. One for the most basketball slam dunks in one minute, with 16. Sounds easy but he was required to run back across the freethrow line before each attempt. Zeus also set a new record for the most bounced three-pointers in one minute, with 5.

If that's not impressive enough Zeus was also featured on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays when he nailed a crazy basketball shot as he zip lined through the Mall of America in March of 2016. "The Globetrotters have come synonymous with shooting some amazing shots. It took 12 attempts and was pretty scary but I got it."

What about skydiving? "Absolutely not" says Zeus. But what a shot that would be right? "It would be worth it."

Zeus made a stop at the Carrier Dome where you'll see the #31 at center court in honor of Pearl Washington, who hit the historic shot. Zeus was in that exact spot to make the same shot yesterday. "For that amazing shot Pearl hit, we do that shot every night."

Never been to a Harlem Globetrotter Game? Zeus says there's something for everyone. "You'll see high flying slam dunks, half court trick shots and crowd participating that's unrivaled in sports. We'll even come into the stands and eat your food, because we get hungry. We may bring you down and spin the ball on your finger and have a good time with you."

New this year is the 4 point shot. "It's about 30 feet away from the basket. That's 6 feet beyond the NBA 3 point line. We've been innovating the game of basketball since we began in 1926."

What's one piece of advice Zeus has for aspiring athletes? "Be coachable," he says. "I played a lot of minutes over guys who were probably better players than I was but because I listened to the coach he could trust me with his philosophy. It's not just in sports. Listen in life."

What's Zeus' favorite part of the game? "Seeing those smile, young and old."
