When you get knocked down, get back up. Just ask Barrett Baber who continues to inspire on 'The Voice.'

Baber, who survived a plane crash when he was in college, survived the knockout rounds despite tearing cartilage in his ribs. "I was working out a week before the knockouts and hurt myself. I didn't realize how painful rib injuries were and it made it difficult for me to breathe. But I managed to gut it out and make it through."

Baber is breathing life into country music, moving fans and even touching rival Voice coach Pharrell, who says he's looking forward to Barber's future. "He could take country music to a place it may not be at the moment in terms of inspiration."

Pickup trucks and beer drinking is country. I like trucks and drinking, but I also have a voice a little more emotional and that's country too.

The knockout rounds were recorded and Barber says he didn't know what Pharrell said until he was watching the episode. "That was incredible. To have a monster producer like him say I could change country music. That's not my goal. I think my time on The Voice is just showing people there's a place for the soulful country music I'm making."

That would be different from the truck driving and beer drinking place country has been in for awhile. "The truth is, pickup trucks and beer drinking is country. I like trucks and drinking, but I also have a voice a little more emotional and that's country too. People like the truck driving and beer drinking country, but I hope they dig what I'm doing too," says Baber.

Fans are digging it, buying Baber's music on iTunes and he's blown away from the response so far. "The fact people would take their hard earned dollars and spend it on a song I recorded is a humbling experience."

What will fans be buying next? Baber can't say what he and coach Blake Shelton chose to sing, but he's excited about it. "I have a really special one coming up. I feel people are really going to connect with this one."

Baber also has his special cowboy boots ready to go. "They've been sent over to the studio already. My boot game is strong."
