Sauquoit native Allie Kiesel has been calling L.A. for the past several weeks. The 12 year-old is preparing for A Christmas Story Live, on Fox.

"I am extremely excited," says Kiesel. "It's so cool because I haven't done a lot of TV projects before."

Allie has been working on the show for the past 3 to 4 weeks and says she's a little nervous. "It's live so what could go wrong will go wrong."

Even if you've watch the holiday classic every year, there's something new in the live TV show. "There is some parts that are very different but I'm not allowed to give away anything."

Allie plays Mary Beth, a girl in Ralphie's class and the same role she played on Broadway. "She's a bratty rich girl that definitely takes a lot of acting," laughs Allie.

The opportunity to star in the live version was a spur of the moment thing. "We were in L.A for a different audition and we saw they were holding auditions and decided it'd be fun to check it out," says Kiesel. And it's a good thing she did.

A Christmas Story Live is on Fox Sunday, December 17th at 7pm. After the show airs, she and her mother will return home for the holidays and it sounds like she'll be on Santa's nice list this year. "I hope so."
