Everything You Need to Know For Utica’s St Patricks Day Parade – Parking, Painting of the Green and Items Not Allowed
It's time to get your Irish on. Saturday is the St Patrick's Day parade in Utica that kicks off at 10am at the roundabout on Genesee Street. There are a few things you need to know before heading downtown, including where to park, what not to bring and traffic detours as the annual 'Painting of the Green' takes place today.
Painting of the Green - Friday
When: Friday, March 11, 2016 from approximately 1045 to 1130.
Traffic will be closed from South Street/Cornelia Street and Hopper Street/Court Street on Genesee Street (Both North and South bound traffic on Genesee Street)
Drivers should expect delays and detours.
Prohibited at Parade
The following items will not be allowed on Varick St. during the St. Patrick's day festivities:
No backpacks
No aluminum cans
No glass bottles

Both sides of Columbia St. from Genesee St. to Broadway
Both sides of Genesee Street from Columbia St. to Newell St.
Both sides of Varick Street from Columbia to Court Street
