In this quietly astonishing play, the actors tell their stories directly to the audience, so close that it's like being in a pub and sharing a pint with the three characters.
Bright, independent Molly has been blind since she was a baby. When her husband, a restless, unemployed enthusiast makes her blindness his latest cause, he consults a once-famous surgeon who, despite being half drowned in whiskey, agrees to attempt to restore Molly’s sight. “What has she got to lose?” they ask. Perhaps everything.
"Molly Sweeney” is directed by Eileen Tiller-Clanton and performed by Zenna Monaghan, Paul Hernon and Thom Capozzella. Tickets are $14 adults, $11 students and available at the door or in advance at the Cafe Domenico or online at www.outcasttheater.com.
