Mr Misunderstood is Mickey Smay, a 14-year-old rocker and freshman at Webster Schroeder High School in Rochester, New York.

Eric Church surprised fans on the day of the CMA Awards with a secret album, new song and video for 'Mr. Misunderstood.' The kid that's misunderstood, sitting in a classroom as Church plays guitar, is Smay.

"Hey there weird kid in your high top shoes.
Sitting in the back of the class; I was just like you.
Always left out. Never fit in.
Owning that path you're walking in.
Mr Misunderstood."

Smay's father, that shows him how to fix cars and play a guitar in the video is his real father Jason Smay. They were cast in the video after the family stayed in Nashville with people who had connections to Church, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.

Smay even delivered a few of the surprise album to fans and radio stations.

If appearing in an Eric Church video isn't cool enough, Smay is the one featured on the album cover too that features a song inspired by his son called 'Three Year Olds.' Mr. Misunderstood is available in stores or at EricChurch.com and iTunes.
