Leave your tips at the door if you're heading to Davidson Brothers brewpub in Glens Falls. The restaurant is eliminating tipping and it's not sitting well with employees or the customers.

Instead of leaving a tip customers will pay an 18% surcharge that will be added to each check. The change comes after the minimum wage increased from $5 to $7.50 an hour.

Brandon Barton was a server at Davidson Brothers until the change. He says he "was forced to quit because I simply could not get behind the no-tipping model."

A meeting was held a few weeks ago to inform the staff of the change. "We were told we are unnecessary and they have hired a larger management force because if the servers couldn't get behind the change, the entire waitstaff would be replaced with tablets," says Barton.

Employees aren't the only ones upset over the change. Customers are sharing their opinions on Davidson Brothers Facebook page and from the sounds of it Tips aren't the only thing being left at the door. Customers are refusing to even walk through the door.

Carrie Giacobbe: "Very unhappy with the recent change in tipping policy. I won't be going back."

James Culver: "Can't support a business that attempts to take money out of their employees pockets."

Victor DelRegno Jr: "I'm not 100% sure I understand your policy in response to rising wage costs, but this is what I take from it. You don't get to tip our staff anymore, but you get to directly pay us more for the same thing under the label of "surcharge."

Sandra Pope: "As a long time customer of yours I will NEVER step foot in your business again due to the fact that your "no tip" policy is for your profit gain and you rip the rug from under all your servers and bartenders."
