Elvis Remembered

This weekend was Elvis Presley Birthday Celebration weekend at Graceland in Memphis. A number of events were held to commemorate the 76th anniversary of his birth including special tours, remembrances from close friends and a Saturday night concert by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra performing  many of his hits. Although best known as the "King of Rock and Roll" Elvis was also a very successful country artist chalking up 11 #1 songs on the Billboard Country charts.His first #1 on the country charts was "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" in 1956. His final country #1 was his version of Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man" in 1981. Here is that first #1 from the young man known as "The Hillbilly Cat" from 1956.
