Elizabeth Taylor Late to Her Own Funeral

Express Newspapers/Hulton Archive/Getty Images

Elizabeth Taylor was late to her own funeral.  She was laid to rest yesterday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.  The ceremony was delayed by about 15 minutes – at her own request.

Taylor’s Publicist Sally Morrison said she left instructions to start the funeral late because “She even wanted to be late to her own funeral.”

The private Jewish ceremony, attended by family and friends, began with actor Colin Farrell reciting a poem.

The Westboro Baptist Church, who threatened to protest the funeral, never showed up.

Elizabeth Taylor, 79, died of congestive heart failure
