The photo of balls may seem strange, but it was one of the family traditions in the house where I grew up.  Sure, we had the traditional ham dinner, colored Easter Eggs and ate chocolate rabbits, but there were some traditional gifts too.

I'm not sure where the tradition got it's start, but there was always a ball involved in the Easter Basket.  Or in the case of the basketball it would be found while hunting the eggs. There were a couple of other traditional items too; kites, a punching balloon and usually swimming trunks.  In reflection, perhaps it all points to a sign of "spring is here"
