If you have new or gently used sports gear that is collecting dust and you would like to help out local student-athletes, the Utica Comets have teamed up with the Boilermaker for the second 'Sneaks and Cleats Equipment Drive.'

Gather up all those cleats, sneakers, ice skates, hockey sticks and gear, baseball gloves, bats and anything else you aren't using and bring it to the Boilermaker Public Market on September 5 and 12 from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Last year's event was such a huge success that organizers have decided to hold another drive in 2017.

The sports gear will be collected and cleaned up(if needed) and donated to the Utica Youth Bureau to help local athletes get the equipment they need to thrive in whatever sport they participate in.

The Boilermaker Public Market is located at 805 Court Street in Utica, or you can drop off donations at our Townsquare media Studios at 9418 River Road in Marcy before September 12 during regular business hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

When you drop off your donations at the Boilermaker Public Market, you'll also have the chance to shop fresh, local produce at the same time.

You'll also be able to spin the Boilermaker prize wheel for great area prizes.
