Disciplining Our Kids

I remember when I was a kid the means of discipline were–by todays standards–medieval. There was “the belt”, having your mouth washed out with soap, no after dinner desert and the uncertainty of what was going to happen “when your father gets home”. Today parental discipline has gone through a sea change with an emphasis on having children learn why their actions were inappropriate rather than simply enduring the consequences. Here are some strategies from About.com.
