Remember when you were a kid they said if you dig a deep enough hole you'll end up in China? We know that isn't true but a new website shows where would you end up if you actually could dig that far.

The website is called Antipodesmap.com, and shows your antipodes location (the point on the Earth's surface which is diametrically opposite).

Sadly, most of us would end up somewhere in the Pacific Ocean surrounded by nothing more than hundreds of miles of open water. Yikes!

The site also shows locations that do actually have antipodes that are on land and in populated areas, but none of them seem to be in the US.

According to their research, to dig through to China, you'd actually have to start somewhere in Argentina.

In case you were wondering, Antipodesmap.com wasn't created by some college kid with too much time on their hands. It was created as a fun non-traditional way to teach kids about geography and where they are located in the world.

You can play around with the site and see the antipodes of your favorite places at Antipodesmap.com.
