JLo Drops F Bomb, Harry Connick Insults Country fans on Idol

Dexter Roberts went to the 'Boondocks,' Caleb Johnson got sexy, Jennifer Lopez dropped the F-bomb and Harry Connick Jr. insulted Keith Urban fans on American Idol. It was a jam packed night of entertainment as the Top 9 were 'In with the Band,' performing band songs on American Idol.

There's a difference between being a great singer and being an artist and if Dexter Roberts wants to win American Idol, he's going to have to find a way to make the songs he chooses original. His performance of 'Boondocks' was probably good enough to keep him around another week, but he's going to need to step up his game, especially after being in the bottom 2 last week.

JLo's F-Bomb After Jena Irene Performs

Jena Irene delivered on a performance that had Jennifer Lopez dropping the F-Bomb. Although she enjoyed the vocals, JLo wanted Jena to be 'more messy,' encouraging her to flip her hair and get into it. Harry Connick Jr. wanted to see JLo's hair flip which caused the slip. The curse was bleeped but it you watch close at the 5:35 mark in the video, you can read her bright, red lips.

The judges may have had high praise for Jena, but I thought her performance of 'Bring Me to Life' was more screaming than singing. Listen and judge for yourself.

Harry Insults Country Music Fans

I'm surprised Harry Connick Jr isn't catching more heat for a joke about Keith Urban fans. During critique of Sam Wolfe's performance, Harry received only a 'smattering' of applause, the same sound at one of his concerts, joked Keith. Harry replied 'TLike I've always said 'what is 40 feet long and has 8 teeth? Front row at one of Keith Urban's concert.'' Although it's an old joke, it may offend those who've been in the front row, myself included. Watch the joke at the 6:00 mark.

Caleb Johnson did something he hasn't done on the American Idol stage before. He brought his sexy out for his performance of Led Zepplin's 'Dazed & Confused.' Jennifer Lopez said 'to lead a rock band you have to bring the sexy and you have that.' Caleb is a frontrunner to win this season.

CJ Harris can saaang, but he also needs to feel. His performance of 'If It Hadn't Been For Love' was good but not great. I hope he isn't sent home this week due to his lack of passion.
