Say goodbye to Wisteria Lane.  ABC has confirmed 'Desperate Housewives' is coming to an end.  Gabby, Lynette, Bree and Susan will take their final bow at the end of this season.

The show first aired in 2004 to much success.  Viewership has declined in recent years, but it still has a worldwide audience of 51.6 million tuning in every week.  ABC's website teases the upcoming season which should be full of surprises.

'For Season Eight, Carlos's murder of Gaby's evil stepfather and the cover up by Susan, Gaby, Bree and Lynette has far reaching effects. Feelings of guilt begin to overcome everyone. Susan starts to withdraw from her friends and family, and Gaby works to reach out to Carlos while his guilt weighs heavily upon him. As Lynette and Tom are grappling with their disintegrating marriage and impending separation, Lynette is having trouble making the right choices ever since she participated in the cover-up. And Bree must be especially careful around her new love, Detective Chuck Vance. Meanwhile a new sexy neighbor moves to town, Ben Faulkner, and he's Renee's first order of business.'

I've been a Desperate watcher since day one.  I thought the last few seasons have been a little dull, so this news doesn't come as much of a surprise.  It'll be interesting to see how they wrap everything up after 8 years.  I guess it's like anything else, all good things must come to an end.'
