If you or someone you know is in need of a dress for Prom, but can't afford to spend a ton of money, Central Valley Academy is holding their first ever "Prom Project."

Many schools throughout Central New York have started programs in the last few years to help students afford going to Prom. Between buying the dress, getting a limo, tickets to the event, getting hair and makeup done, and everything else that goes hand-in-hand with Prom, it can get costly, pretty fast. Several schools are trying to help with those costs by collecting dresses from the community to be sold at discounted rates for students.

Central Valley Academy has jumped on board to help their students afford Prom with their "Prom Project." Prom Project will allow teens to shop for gently used Prom dresses that are affordable. There will also be vendors on site, with their goods and services on display. The event is Saturday, February 18th in their small gym, and will go from 10am to 1pm. Admission is free and open to all Herkimer BOCES component districts.

If you have a gently used formal dress and would like to sell or donate it, you can contact the class advisors for details, by visiting CValleyCSD.org
