‘Cute Kid’ of the Day: Paralyzed Teen Walks at His High School Graduation

Our 'Cute Kid' of the day, or should I say 'Teen' of the day was run over by a car at 14-months-old and was paralyzed from the waist down.  But Patrick Ivison didn’t let his disability stop him. In fact, he learned how to kayak, ski, play rugby and even surf. And now he can add walking to receive his diploma during his high school graduation to his list.

In 1995, Ivison was struck by a vehicle while walking with his mother. The accident severely damaged his spinal cord and confined him to a wheelchair. Despite being dealt a bad hand in life, he still managed to win.  We could all learn a little something from Ivison.
