McDonald's is getting rid of a popular menu item and customers are not happy.

The restaurant chain will begin phasing out the Hi C Orange Lavaburst drink May 1st, according to a post on Reddit and the backlash has already begun.

Although the Hi C phase out begins May 1st, restaurants will continue to serve the drink until its gone. Once it's gone, McDonald's will replace the popular Hi C drink with Sprite TropicBerry in July.

McDonald's sent a press release to all restaurants that read, "We do understand that the discountenance of Hi C Orange will likely drive customer inquiries." A 'crew script' was given to employees to address any questions.

On a brighter note, the Signature Crafted sandwiches that were only available at the Oneida McDonald' are now sold everywhere.
