As a kid, I remember my mother belonging to the "Record Of The Month Club", and almost every month, an Andy Williams album would arrive at our doorstep. And every Monday night, "The Andy Williams Show" on NBC was on our McShea family TV. Andy Williams died Tuesday night at the age of 84 from his battle with bladder cancer.

According to the "Daily News":

"Williams died Tuesday night at his home in Branson following a yearlong battle with the disease, his Los Angeles-based publicist, Paul Shefrin, said Wednesday. He was 84.

Movie songs became a specialty, from "Love Story" and "Days of Wine and Roses" to "Moon River."

"The Andy Williams Show," which lasted in various formats through the 1960s and into 1971, won three Emmys and featured Williams alternately performing his stable of hits and bantering casually with his guest stars."

For those of you not familiar with the "Andy Williams Show" on NBC, here's a video clip of him singing his signature song, "Moon River".
