Craft beer lovers rejoice! The Valley now has a brewery of it's very own with Crazy Williez Farm Brewery set to open in Ilion.

Owners Grant Gasstrom and Matthew Keyser launched the idea a few years back when Grant decided to plant some hops on his farm.

Shortly after planting the hops, the question they got was, "you have hops, are you going to make beer?"

Now here we are a few short years later and Crazy Williez is ready to open to the public with a Grand Opening party on Saturday October 7, from 12 - 9 p.m. at 546 Silver Street in Ilion.

Crazy Williez is currently contracting the brewing of their beers to Skewed Brewing in Watertown, but Gasstrom says they're hoping to have the whole operation in-house by November, and they'll celebrate with a party of course.

Because they're a 'farm brewery' Crazy Williez has to source a specific portion of their ingredients locally, that means you're getting more beer made right in Central New York with New York State grown components.

You can head to their Grand Opening on October 7 where you'll be able to sample their beer, including an IPA and a Pineapple Heffeweissen.

Because craft brewing is such a supportive community, Crazy Williez is excited to announce that for their Grand Opening they'll have other local beer options on tap too, like Woodland Brewery, Copper City Brewing and Skewed Brewing.

There will also be live music from the Bagg's Square Band, wine from Hummingbird Hills Winery, Lemon Vodka samples and even some locally made Moonshine!

You can learn more about Crazy Williez from owner Grant Gasstrom in the video above, and be sue to follow the Crazy Williez Facebook page for updates, events and new beer announcements.
