It appears to be a foregone conclusion that New Jersey will bear the brunt of Hurricane Sandy as the storm is forecast to make landfall somewhere north of Cape May.  The current storm track puts the eye of the storm directly over Central New York later this week.

This image, updated by the National Weather Service Sunday Night shows the projected landfall in Jersey.  The storm will remain at tropical storm strength across Pennsylvania and as some point as it crosses through Central Pennsylvania and New York it will be downgraded to a tropical depression.  It will take about 24 hours for the storm to cross New York State.

Central New York will begin to feel the effects of the storm by mid afternoon Monday and continue with the heaviest rain though the day on Tuesday.
