Whether there's a future veterinarian in the house or you just want to escape for some fun, Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Open House is the place to be.  It's Saturday, April 11 from 10 to 4 in Ithaca.  Get details, directions, how to get a ride and watch highlights from last year's event.

The open house is free and so is parking, although they do accept donations.  You can participate in health diagnosis clinics, lectures on First Aid, watch demonstrations or hang out at the petting zoo with rare and exotic animals.  Here's a schedule of events and demonstration times.

If you're looking for transportation, Oneida County 4-H will be offering a field trip to the open house for just $5.  Here's the registration form.  There won't be chaperones, so children must be accompanied by an adult.  The bus leaves at 8 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is at the intersection of Route 366 and Tower Road in Ithaca.  Visitors should park in the large "O" parking lot just off Tower Road and enter the college through the Veterinary Education Center doors under the open house banner.  For more details contact Cindy Ryan at 607-253-3700 or email: cr227@cornell.edu
