Even though we've been enjoying a very mild winter here in Central New York, could that be coming to an end this week?

According to Syracuse.com, the National Weather Service says a cold front passing through Wednesday could lead to "potentially significant" lake effect snow. With that being said, it looks like the majority of the snow will hit Oneida, Onondaga, and Madison counties.

After that storm passes through on Thursday, temperatures will plunge as a "true Arctic air mass" moves toward Upstate New York. The weather service said that temperatures about a mile above the ground will be "on par with the coldest ever recorded in the month of February." While the coldest of the air is likely to stay above Quebec and northern Maine, Central New York could see temperatures as low as zero."
