Did you know that New York State Police are still investigating decades old murder cases? The latest is the case of Rudy Allen Rothberg's murder.

Rudy Allen Rothberg was 52 at the time of his murder and police are still trying to figure out who killed him and why.

Rothberg was from Evans Mills in Jefferson County and drove truck for Whitaker Trucking Company located in Deposit, NY.

On November 8, 1972 Mr. Rothberg was found dead in his truck at a rest stop on I-81 just south of Lafayette.

Police say Rothberg was shot in the head with a shotgun while he was sleeping in the cab of his truck in the driver's seat.

His murder was reported at about 3 a.m. when another driver found his body and called police.

During the investigation it was discovered that Rothberg's wallet that had a small amount of cash and a couple credit cards had been stolen.

To this day Police have no leads on who murdered Rudy Allen Rothberg.
