An American climber who fell 70 feet, while hiking in the Himalayas, has Facebook to thank for saving his life. John All took a self video, showing his bloodied face and useless arm. After dislocating his shoulder and breaking five ribs, a knee and an elbow, All managed to climb out of the hole and drag himself to his tent before being rescued the next morning.

The geography professor was hiking with friends, who had turned back earlier.  He says 'my right arm is seizing up. I can't use it anymore. I can't talk, cuz I have a broken rib I think. My chest is filling with blood or something.'

He tells the NY Daily News 'I thought I was going to die, there was no way out and I was all alone.'

All was taken to the hospital but checked himself out the next day.

All caught the entire ordeal on his cell phone and posted videos on his YouTube channel . Watch the amazing footage of All climbing out of the hole with one arm.

'After climbing for about 35 minutes, I wasn't much closer and kept having to climb to my right in order to find terrain I could climb in my shattered condition.'

'After another hour and a half, I was getting closer and knew it was possible but was also so damn tired. Hope brings frustration sometimes.'

'Another 30 minute of climbing and traversing trying to get out and I am nearly there. I knew I could do it, but is still took another chunk of time to escape. I was damn lucky.'

Despite what All calls 'one of life's hardest moments,' hes heading back to the mountains. All has a planned hiking trip in Peru next month. That's ONE TOUGH guy!  I'd never get on a mountain again. Lets hope this hike has a happier and safer ending.
