Local law enforcement officials continue to urge you to click that seat belt, and drive safely during the "Frog Days of Summer". Over the weekend, a number of drivers were ticketed for not wearing their seat belts.

"Thousands of drivers were ticketed as a result of a campaign to enforce the use of seat belts.The Buckle Up New York Enforcement Campaign started on May 21st and ended over the weekend. State police say they issued 1,262 safety belt tickets, and 102 child restraint tickets during the 14-day campaign, for a total of 3,870 violations.

Officials say the aim of the campaign is to ensure drivers have a better chance of surviving a fatal crash."

So, buckle up, for safety's sake!
