Black's agent released a press release on her death, saying she passed away Monday night surrounded by her family, according to ABC News.

Shirley Temple broke into the movie world in 1932 at the age of three. In 1934, she found international fame in Bright Eyes. Despite her film success she left the industry in her teens and retired in 1950 at the age of 22.
