Child Star Shirley Temple Black Dies
Child movie star Shirley Temple Black has died at the age of 85.
Black's agent released a press release on her death, saying she passed away Monday night surrounded by her family, according to ABC News.
Shirley Temple broke into the movie world in 1932 at the age of three. In 1934, she found international fame in Bright Eyes. Despite her film success she left the industry in her teens and retired in 1950 at the age of 22.
Black got married at age 17 to Sgt John Agar Jnr, an army aviation engineer. The two divorced just four years later.
Black received the Life Achievement Award during the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2006.
