The Utica Zoo has been a place that Central New Yorkers have been going to for several years. It's a great place for both the young and the young at heart.

The zoo has several events coming up in the next few weeks, including:

Yoda, the white handed gibbon, will be turning 32 and his daughter, Maylay, will be turning 16. Visitors are welcoming to bring gifts for the primates (non-salted peanuts, craisins, peanut butter, carrots, sweet potatoes, extra durable kong toys or gift cards to Petsmart, Price Chopper, Hannaford, Jo-Ann’s, Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, or Home Depot). Throughout the day, there will several enrichment sessions to teach kids and their dads about the different animals they have.
  • June 20th - August 29th: The zoo will be open late on Monday nights. The zoo normally closes at 4:45 pm, but will be open until 7 pm on Mondays starting June 20th. Of those Mondays, June 27th, July 25th, and August 29th will be free admission days. You can check out the zoo's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more information and added enrichment and activities on Monday nights.
