Any Central New Yorker can make it thru a little snow, but ice is the concern in this Winter Weather Advisory. The National Weather Service thinks the concern will be from 10 tonight (12/27/18) to 7 tomorrow morning (12/28/18).

WHAT... Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of around or less than one-tenth of an inch expected, especially at higher elevations.

WHEN... A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow will develop late this evening, before changing to plain rain before dawn Friday as temperatures rise.

WHERE... Oneida, Otsego, Delaware and Sullivan Counties.

Winter Weather Preparation:

  • Keep your cell phone charged and make sure you know where your backup power supply is.
  • Make sure all your flashlights have fresh batteries.
  • Fill your gas tank. You can use your car to keep warm and recharge devices.
  • Have some food available that you don’t need to cook.
