Celebrate National Salsa Month
Yes, Salsa has its own month, and this is it. May is National Salsa Month. In the McShea household, we usually dip into a little salsa about twice a year - first during the Super Bowl and second during the Kentucky Derby (which is this Saturday)!
Believe it or not, salsa is used more often than even ketchup as a topping! It's used as a dip, marinade and to spice up countless recipes. National Salsa Month celebrates more than 50 years of picante sauce, a salsa created in 1947, and celebrates Cinco de Mayo, a major Mexican holiday now recognized across North America.
