So far, thankfully much of central New York has been spared the wrath of Hurricane (now Super Storm) Sandy. But, watching reports on The Weather Channel and elsewhere, you can't help but hope that our friends, neighbors and relatives in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Ohio, Virginia, D.C., Western New York and all other areas that took the brunt of the storm are OK.

If you have plans to go to New York or other locations along the east coast via Amtrak or Greyhound be advised that many routes have been cancelled due to the ongoing problems caused by Hurricane Sandy. Since many travel plans include connections in New York City it may well be that travel plans to other parts of the country may also be affected.

Hurricane Sandy has left her mark.  2200 customers in Oneida, Madison and Herkimer counties are without power this morning due to downed power lines.  Get up to date power updates at WIBX950.

The storm hit the New Jersey shore late last night, causing way more damage than we're seeing in Central New York.
